About Me

I chose to pursue engineering because of my passion for problem-solving and my love of imagination. I am highly-focused and hard-working, always eager to learn something new. In turn, I consistently apply my knowledge to create something of service, in the hopes of improving the quality of life for others.

Throughout my academic career, I gained technical skills -- such as computer programming, electronics breadboarding, and 3D CAD modelling --  that helped me design and develop projects that I am passionate about. When working in a group, I know the importance of providing my own contribution, whether that be perspective time, and/or skill. As I work on any task, I ascertain to learn any new technology or methodologies that can benefit the process and practice incorporating my innovative ideas.

Education
Dartmouth College
Sept 2014 - June 2018
Bachelor of Engineering
Bachelor of Arts
Concentration: Mechanical
Website: https://home.dartmouth.edu/

At this liberal arts institution, I was able to cultivate a well-rounded education in engineering and also develop skills outside of the technical field. I obtained both of my degrees in four years and helped develop resources that I thought could benefit the overall well-being of students.

Lennox Mathematics, Science & Technology Academy

Sept 2010 - June 2014

High School Diploma

Website: http://www.lennoxacademy.org/

In high school, I was in a program called Project Lead the Way, in which I was exposed to basic engineering principles and skills while also gaining college course credit from El Camino College.

Extracurricular Activities
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
Oct 2017 - June 2018
Vice President

With a team of four fellow students pursuing STEM fields, I helped bring the SHPE chapter to Dartmouth College, to serve as a resource to students who would like academic and professional support in their pursuit of the STEM fields.

La Alianza Latina

Sept 2016 - June 2017

Secretary

I joined the executive board of this organization to help organize community-building events for the Latiinx community at Dartmouth College. I served as secretary and was responsible for documentation and communication (both inside and outside of the organization community).

Dartmouth Emergency Medical Services

Nov 2015 - June 2018

Secondary

Tertiary

I served as Emergency Medical Technician with this organization for two years and, afterwards, remained as a volunteer for the remaining time that I was in college. As a medical provider, I worked various shifts in teams (with an average size of three medical providers total) and used skills such as documentation, communication, and assessment to provide the best medical attention I could provide to each patient.

First Year Student Enrichment Program

Sept 2014 - June 2018

I first joined this program as a mentee but soon after became a mentor; in this program, I helped foster a supportive community for individuals who are first-generation students at Dartmouth College. I drew knowledge from my own experiences as a college student and enthusiastically provided advice and support to fellow community members.
